Stop Making It Weird™, LLC began as a campaign to combat our own "weirdness" in attitudes, beliefs, and actions toward people with disabilities.
Attitudes and beliefs may manifest themselves as "excessive celebration" over a person completing mundane or routine tasks--that is, it is "celebrated" because it was done by someone with a disability, simply because they have a disability.
"Inspiration porn"--the media portrayals of people with disabilities doing everyday things as inspirational--distort society's perceptions of people with disabilities and what it's like to experience disability.
Although there are examples of people "making things weird" well beyond the world of disability, this is our focus for now.
